Sugar River Transit – A New Transportation Service Coming to Your Community
Starting Tuesday, October 25th
Seniors need transportation for many reasons. Mainly to get where they need to go, however it may be because they no longer drive, they need help in accessing services, and even because they want or need socialization. In rural Green County, seniors who don’t drive may find themselves isolated and disconnected from the communities where they have lived and worked for many years. Some seniors even say, “If you limit your driving, you limit your life.” We are here to help!
The ADRC and Monroe Cab recognize this challenge and have partnered to bring you a new transportation service called Sugar River Transit. Sugar River Transit serves residents of Belleville, New Glarus, and Monticello by offering an on-demand service on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pick-ups and drop offs are available anywhere in Belleville, New Glarus, and Monticello, and can help you visit your local clinic, get groceries, try a program at the Senior Center, or visit a friend.
To use Sugar River Transit, simply call the Monroe Cab at (608) 325-6993 either in advance for scheduled appointments or the day of for a pick-up. All vehicles used are wheelchair and walker accessible, and the drivers are friendly, courteous, and able to help you carry packages to your front door. Also this service is available for riders of any age.
