Green County Historical Society and Libraries Hold Barn Photo Contest

The Green County Historical Society Barn Inventory Project is partnering with the Green County Libraries to sponsor a photo contest of Green County Barns. Photos will be displayed in the libraries during the month of June. Patrons will be encouraged to vote for their favorite picture. The pictures receiving the most votes will be judged and a county-wide photograph will be chosen. All photographs will be retained by the Green County Historical Society to be used in promotion of the Green County Barn Inventory Project. Credit will be given to the photographer whenever a photo is used.

The New Glarus Library has chosen not to participate in this county wide project. The Monticello Library has agreed to allow any New Glarus residents who wish to enter the contest to bring their photos to the Monticello Library.

On Monday night beginning at 6 p.m. the Monticello Library will host a Green County Barn Photo Contest kickoff event. Members of the Green County Historical Society Barns Inventory Project will present a short program on the progress of the barn inventory that started this spring.
