Green County Historical Society and Libraries Hold Barn Photo Contest

Freitag Estate Farm, Monticello. This farm is the site of the first Swiss cheese factory in Green County, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Green County Historical Society Barn Inventory Project is partnering with the Green County Libraries to sponsor a photo contest of Green County Barns. Photos will be displayed in the libraries during the month of June. Patrons will be encouraged to vote for their favorite picture. The pictures receiving the most votes will be judged and a county wide photograph will be chosen. All photographs will be retained by the Green County Historical Society to be used in promotion of the Green County Barn Inventory Project. Credit will be given to the photographer whenever a photo is used.
