On April 22, Belleville High School Science teacher Meredith Smith received a big surprise when she was presented with a Crystal Apple Award by by Leigh Mills and NBC 15. Smith was nominated by Associate Principal Virginia Schween, and was one of only five teachers in southern Wisconsin to receive the honor (out of 260 applications submitted). According to the Belleville High School Facebook page, the broadcast of Smith's presentation will air on Tuesday, May 3, on the NBC 15 during the 6:00 p.m. newscast.
