On Sunday, April 17, the New Glarus Fire Department was called to a large grass fire on CTH U, north of the Village of New Glarus. Also responding to the fire were personnel and equipment from Belleville, Verona, and Mount Horeb. It was estimated that approximately 70 acres of fields and woods were burned.
