Elder Benefit Specialists can be found in every county and tribe in Wisconsin working with residents 60 years of age and older, regardless of financial status. There is no charge for services; however donations can be made towards the cost of the service.

Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance and Advantage Plans

Senior Care and Medicare Part D

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Medical Assistance (MA) and Low Income Subsidy Programs (QMB, SLMB, SLMB+)

Foodshare (food stamps) and Energy Assistance

Other Legal, Benefit and Consumer Problems

Anyone 60 years of age or old should use the service if they:

Are having a problem in securing a public or private benefit

Want to know more about any benefits

Need help in organizing the paperwork that comes with applying for benefits

Have been denied a benefit that they think they are entitled to receive

Foodshare (food stamps) and Energy Assistance

All files and correspondence are kept locked, and your conversations with the Benefit Specialist will remain confidential.

Who is, and how do I contact, the Elder Benefit Specialist?

In Green County, the Elder Benefit Specialist is Linda Gallagher. Her main office is part of the Aging and Disability Resource Center, located in the Government Services Building at the Pleasant View Complex, N3152 State Road 81 Monroe. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Phone (608) 328-9366.

Albany – 1st Wednesday-Riverview Apartments, 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m .; Village Hall, 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Juda – 1st Thursday-Juda Community Building, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Monticello – 2nd Monday-Monticello Public Library, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

New Glarus – 2nd Monday-New Glarus Dining Center, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.

Brodhead – 2nd Wednesday-Brodhead City Hall, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

For the best service and to ensure the Benefit Specialist is available to meet with you, always call for an appointment. Home visits can also be arranged.
