Beckwith Receives Green County Home and Community Education Scholarship
The Green County Home and Community Education is happy to announce that Dylan Beckwith of Monticello High School, son of John and Stephanie Beckwith was awarded a $300.00 scholarships for 2015.
Dylan has been involved with the Big Brother and Sisters organization, active in his church, the Monroe Theater Guild, regional/state Solo and Ensembles in the Monticello music program, was a state track competitor, is the Vice President of the National Honors Society and was a National Star Qualifier. He was also a regional district and state Forensics speaking competitor, participated in Future Business Leaders and served as an officer in that organization. He was a Boy Scout who attained his Eagle Scout status and was a most outstanding Chapter Member of the Year in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization for 3 years. He constructed a storage shed on the Monticello community library property and serves as his senior class president. Dylan has also taken many college parallel courses to accelerate his college studies and save some college tuition money such as AS accounting, AS algebra, AP physics, AS biology, AP chemistry and college English.
