The family of Allen Fjelstad established an memorial in the name of Allen Fjelstad at the Stuessy-Kuenzi New Glarus Post #141 of the American Legion. The donation was presented to the Post Commander Steve Hodgson on October 27, 2018, by Allen's daughter Cindy Esser.

Allen was a member of the post for 51 years when he passed. Allen was a US Army veteran and joined the post when he returned from active duty. He held many offices in the post and became Post Commander and Green County American Legion Council Commander during his tenure. Allen's contributions were many, as he served as the manager of the Veterans Memorial Hall and Membership Chairman. His efforts to keep the membership at 100% resulted in the post receiving the Post Excellence Award from the National Commander for seven continuous years.
