Green County's Habitat for Humanity store in Monroe has extended its hours to include Wednesdays.
New store hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The store is located at 305 2nd Street N, Monroe.
Increased donations, heavier customer traffic and record sales warranted the change, according to Store Manager, Bobby Cassell.
The new schedule will go until the end of November, when management will decide whether to cut back for winter.
At the current time, the store has a full line of paint and related products, in addition to donated hardware, furniture, tools, appliances and miscellaneous items related to house repair or furnishing. Continually changing inventory makes it an interesting destination for browsers and bargain seekers. The store began offering a line of new mattresses in late October.
Habitat for Humanity of Green County suspended projects when the COVID-19 pandemic hit but, since then, has been able to complete several exterior home repair projects. In addition to home repairs, Green County Habitat has built a total of 23 homes and is currently considering sites for building a house in 2021.
Cassell reminds customers they are required to wear masks and socially distance when in the store. Pickup for larger donated items can be arranged.
