Upcoming Events in the Town of New Glarus
February 16, 2023
Lots of things going on in the Town of New Glarus over the next few months! Here’s an update.
From 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 25, 2023, the Town of New Glarus Parks Commission will offer a workshop on Prairie Restoration and Management and Invasive Species Control. The speakers will be Fil Sanna of the Spring Valley Project, Jason Granberg of the Wisconsin DNR and Matt Walrath of the Upper Sugar River Watershed Association. The workshop will be held in the upstairs meeting room of Tofflers Pub and Grill, 200 5th Avenue, New Glarus, and refreshments will be served.
On Saturday, April 15th, The Parks Commission will hold another workshop, this time on the popular sport of River Tripping. Presenting will be Andrew and Ethan Elkins, a father and son duo that has been canoeing, kayaking and paddleboard camping for decades. Join us from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Town Hall, 26 5th Avenue, New Glarus, to learn how to plan and enjoy a safe and memorable waterborne adventure!
Lastly, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 22nd, is the date for residents to pick up the trees that they ordered from the Parks Commission last fall and to drop off their old electronics for recycling. Both Tree Pickup and Electronics Recycling will be at the Town Hall.
