Silent Auction to Benefit Jeremy Bigler Scholarship and Candy Cane Hill
February 9, 2023
Sunday, March 5, 2023, marks the 7th Annual “Go Bigs or Go Home” Trivia Event to benefit the Jeremy Bigler Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each spring to a New Glarus High School student that is involved in sports and music. The trivia event is a private event and will again be “in-person” back at Puempel’s Olde Tavern. Several teams will be back vying for that first place spot, which team “Orange Whip” does not like to relinquish. They will return, along with “Toff Enough”, “SBFF”, “So You Think There’s A Chance”, “SuperNaturals”, “OverThinkers”, “Knights 61” and “Cheese Fibs”. We may have room for one more team. All proceeds from the trivia event will be donated to the scholarship fund.
Brian (Master Quizmaster) and Jodi (Mistress of the Scorekeeping) Bubenzer will again return to take us through the event. We are so glad to be back “in-person”, but these two did a phenomenal job the last two years while we held virtual contests during COVID.
Last year a Silent Auction was created on Facebook under the “Go Bigs” page, and another $2,100 was added to the scholarship fund. Jeremy’s family increased the scholarship award to $1,500 last year and Ellie Eichelkraut was the 2022 recipient.
This year, the Silent Auction will again be held beginning on February 22, 2023, and will end on March 3, 2023, prior to the Trivia Event. The silent auction is open to anyone. This year the proceeds will be split between the Jeremy Bigler Scholarship Fund and New Glarus Cares to benefit the Candy Cane Hill Fundraiser. We are so excited for this opportunity.
If you are interested in donating an item to the Silent Auction or have any other questions, please contact Conni Bigler at clbigler@gmail.com.
