Peggy L. Legler

Peggy L. Legler, 72, of Evansville, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Unity Point/Meriter Hospital, Madison. Peggy was born on February 22, 1950, in Monroe, WI, to Raymond and Shirley (Ruch) Blumer. After Raymond's death, Shirley married Walter Krauss and he adopted and helped raise Peggy and her siblings.

She graduated from New Glarus High School in 1968. On January 31, 1969, Peggy married Ivan "Butch" Legler in Belleville, WI. She worked for 27 years at Thermo Fischer, retiring in 2016. Peggy loved volunteering at the Tired Iron Car Club events. She played the accordion when she was younger. She loved watching the Packers, reading, vacationing up North, gardening and taking day trips. Two of her favorite things were Loons and Clydesdales horses. She had a collection of Loon figurines in her house and loved seeing the Clydesdales in person and on TV.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Ivan "Butch" Legler of Evansville, WI; son, Shane Legler of Edgerton, WI; grandson, Chad Legler of Edgerton, WI; siblings, Mike (Barbara) Krauss of Belleville, WI, Sandy (Mike) Blum of Monticello, WI, Sherry (John) Breisch of Verona, WI; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Blumer and Walter and Shirley Krauss; daughter-in-law, Tonya Legler; brother-in-law, Kevin Legler.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home, 130 S. 5th Street, Evansville, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peggy's name to Agrace Hospice and Badger Honor Flight.
