The Monticello Chamber held a ribbon cutting for King's 244 Bar & Grill on Friday, January 20th. Brent Klitzke is the owner of King's 244 Bar & Grill located at 244 N. Main Street, Monticello. He opened the doors earlier in 2022.

Brent also has a landscaping business, so the bar started out as a winter project for him.

"Thank you to Kari Broge for allowing me the opportunity to purchase the bar (formerly known as The Kooler)," commented Klitzke.

Brent is a Monticello native and he has always admired the brick design on the interior and the unique décor.

His dedicated staff includes Taylor Jacobsen and Halle Everson. Brent expressed what an amazing job they have done and can tag in when Brent is unavailable.

"Currently, I am waiting on the food license and state inspection. I would like to get Friday Fish fries going, maybe Wednesday Wings, and eventually incorporate breakfast into the menu," said Klitzke.

King's 244 Bar & Grill is open on Wednesday and Thursday, from 5:00 p.m.-close. Friday through Sunday they are open at 11:30 a.m.-close. You can also keep up-to-date with King's Bar & Grill on Facebook.
