The Monticello Ponies boys varsity basketball team hosted Juda on December 16th. Monticello led at halftime, 38-6, and allowed Juda to score only 2 points in the second half. The final score was Monticello 76, Juda 8.

The Panthers scored the first basket of the game, however the Ponies finished the half with a 32-1 run, and then finished the game on a 30-0 run in the last 12 and a half minutes to claim victory.

Ryer Indergand put 16 on the board to lead the Ponies in scoring while also having 8 rebounds. Peyton Smith and Jackson Eyler each scored 13 points, with Smith pulling down 9 rebounds and Eyler 4. Nick Roe scored 9 points and Austin Skibbe had 4 rebounds.

On December 20th, the Ponies hosted Shullsburg. The Ponies trailed the Miners at the half, 10-37, and while they outscored their opponent in the second half, could not catch back up. The final score was Shullsburg 62, Monticello 40.

Leading Monticello with 12 points was Ryer Indergand, who also had 5 rebounds. Jackson Eyler scored 8 points with 6 rebounds, Alex Roe scored 6 points, Nick Roe put 5 on the board and Peyton Smith pulled down 6 rebounds.

The Ponies hosted Belleville on January 3rd. They play at Pecatonica on January 6th, host Cambridge on January 10th and play at Abundant Life Christian School on January 12th.
