On December 6th, the Monticello Ponies varsity boys basketball team hosted Barneveld. The Ponies were leading by 5 at the half, and the score was tied at 51 at the end of regulation, sending the game into overtime. Barneveld outscored Monticello 6-2 in OT to win it 57-53.

Jackson Eyler scored 14 points to lead the Ponies, along with having 8 rebounds, while Ryer Indergand scored 13 points and had 8 rebounds and Peyton Smith put 12 on the board and pulled down 10 rebounds.

On December 8th, the Ponies played at Argyle. Down 18-37 at the half, the Ponies outscored the Orioles 36-33 in the second half but it wasn’t enough for the win. The final score was Argyle 70, Monticello 54.

Ryer Indergand led Monticello with 26 points along with 6 rebounds, while Austin Skibbe, Jackson Eyler and Peyton Smith each scored 5 points. Smith pulled down 9 rebounds and Zuteus Blades had 6.

On Saturday, December 10th, the Ponies headed to Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells to face Cochrane-Fountain City. With Monticello trailing by 11 at the half, Cochrane-Fountain City increased their lead throughout the second half to win the game 65-47.

Ryer Indergand led the Ponies with 24 points, while Peyton Smith scored 12 points and Jackson Eyler scored 4.

The Ponies played at New Glarus on December 13th. They will host Juda on December 16th and Shullsburg on December 20th, and will play at Black Hawk on December 22nd.
