Madison Man Wanted for Felony Warrants Apprehended in New Glarus

At 8:31 p.m., Police located James C. Chancy, 46, Madison, in the 200 block of 14th Avenue.
Clancy had two active warrants for his arrest, one was a Felony-Full Extradition warrant for Synthetic Narcotic-Possession through Dane County Sheriff's Office and the other was a warrant for Fail to support Contempt of Court through Green County.
While Police initiated contacted with Chancy, he fled on foot. Police attempted to place Chancy into custody at which point Chancy became physical with officers, striking the arresting officer.
The arresting officer deployed their taser which struck Chancy, causing him to fall to the ground. Chancy was then taken into custody without further incident.
Chancy was charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing an Officer, Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of THC, Escape and the two Warrants for his arrest. Chancy was booked into the Green County Jail and held without bond due to several of the charges being felonies.
