Monticello October Blood Drive Collected 61 Units
November 10, 2022
Dear Editor,
Thank you for advertising our October 2022 Red Cross Blood Drive. It was a very successful drive, with 61 units collected from 63 prospective donors - a fabulously busy day!
Congratulations go out to Roger Brugger for reaching a donation life-total of 25 gallons. What a great accomplishment! Congratulations also to Gregory Lomonico for donating his first unit of blood. We hope to see you both at future Monticello blood drives.
There are so many people to thank for making this day go smoothly. Thank you to the Zwingli Church in Monticello for opening their space to us. A very special thank you to Lynne Erb for registering people and organizing the flow for the Red Cross nursing staff, who also do a great job.
As usual, the canteen was well stocked and people gathered there to catch up and make new acquaintances. Thanks to Family Fresh Pack of Monticello for their generous donation of cheeses and to the Monticello Lions for the milk, sausage, and crackers. Karen Brugger and Anna Marie Davison made delicious cookies, and it is always hard to say “no” to a homemade cookie. Also, thank you to Culver’s of New Glarus for their “Pint for a Pint” coupons, which are a perennial favorite of donors.
It is impressive that a small community like Monticello can pull together an event like this and make it exceptionally successful. We are proud to see everyone come together to help others and to be so positive and kind. The local newspapers and radio station also do a great job of getting information about up-coming drives to a large area. We appreciate everyone that donates blood or helps us in any way - Thank You!
Have a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and hope to see you all again in March 2023.
