Wildcat Logan Derke blasts past Parkview/Albany defenders on his way to a touchdown. The Wildcats won 58-6 and are seeded #3 and will host #6 seeded Westby on Friday, October 21, 2022.
The Belleville Wildcats played their Homecoming game on Friday night against Parkview/Albany. With a 37-0 lead at the half, the Wildcats went on to a 58-6 victory over the Vikings.
The Wildcats opened scoring in the 1st quarter with a pass from Aidan Keyes to Kaden DeSmet and a successful extra point kick from Jake Fahey. Just two minutes later, Logan Derke ran it in from 53 yards out for another score and Fahey's extra point was good. Keyes hit DeMarcus Conner for 6 close to the end of the quarter, and Fahey's kick was good. The second quarter was again dominated by Belleville. Keyes tossed one to Andrew Ace for a TD, with Fahey's kick missing its mark. Keyes found Conner again for 6 and this time Fahey's kick was good. Fahey kicked a field goal to end the half.
In the third quarter, Sam Arndt took over at QB and found Ryker Swenson for 6, with Fahey's kick being successful. Arndt then passed to Casey Hagen for a TD and Fahey's extra point was good. Parkview/Albany scored a touchdown in the fourth, but their 2-point conversion failed. With a little over a minute left in the game, Trei Udelhoven ran it in for a 2-yard gain and 6 points and Fahey's kick was good.
Belleville's Aidan Keyes had 231 passing yards for the night and 4 touchdowns at QB, while Sam Arndt had 76 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Leading the Wildcats in rushing yards was Logan Derke with 53, plus an interception, while Cayson Helwig rushed for 40 yards, Brennen Keyes had 32 yards, Landry Yarbough had 25, Sam Arndt had 13 and Trei Udelhoven had 12 and an interception.
Kaden DeSmet led Belleville in receiving yards with 77, while DeMarcus Conner had 72, Andrew Ace had 47, Casey Hagen had 44, Nate Meier had 35 and Ryker Swenson had 32.
Defensively, Brennen Keyes led the team with 8 tackles, while Logan Derke had 4, Casey Hagen had 3 and Jake Fahey, Sam Arndt, DeMarcus Conner, Landry Yarbough and Brett Olson all had 2 each.
The Wildcats will host a Division 6 WIAA Football play-off game on Friday, October 21st, at 7:00 p.m. Belleville is seeded #3 for the tournament and will host #6 seeded Westby. The winner will go on to play the winner of the #7 Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg vs #2 Darlington game.
