Wildcats CC Competes in Albany

Both the Middle School and High School Cross Country teams saw success last week. The Middle School team had two meets, the first one at DeForest (3,000 meters) and the second in Albany (1.8 miles).

In DeForest, the 7th graders were led by Matt Allen, running a time of 13:42, followed by Ethan Kaetterhenry with a time of 14:10 and Avery Holverson running a time of 18:22. The 8th grade girls were led by Meara Allen with a time of 15:17. She was followed by Leyna Westphal (15:21), Sophie Howard (15:22), and Emily Fahrenkrug (18:12). Eighth grade boys ran as follows - Carson Biermeier (12:30), Noah Hesch (14:04), Brady Noble (14:24), and Shannon McCall (21:39).

In Albany, the Middle School girls put up the following times: Meara Allen (15:06), Sophie Howard (15:06), Emily Fahrenkrug (18:52), and Avery Holverson (18:57). For the boys, Carson Biermeier led the team with a time of 12:04. He was followed by Aiden Buol (15:14), Matt Allen (13:23), Brady Noble (13:23), Ethan Kaetterhenry (13:53), and Shannon McCall (19:09).

The High School team also ran in Albany on Saturday. The Varsity Girls were led by Alora Spiegel with a time of 21:17 and was recognized for her 9th place finish overall. She was followed by Lainey Winkers (23:22), Alice Elliott (26:31), Ruby Gustafson (27:17), and Maddie Miller (29:08). The girls placed 8th for small schools. Allison Dyrhaug ran in the JV race and finished with a time of 29:07.

For the boys, Carter Scholey finished in first place for small schools (2nd place overall) and was recognized for this, finishing with a time of 16:30. He was followed by Angelo Dohm (18:58), Blake Johnson (19:23), Jackson Scholey (19:38), Niles Monroe (20:19), Aiden Campbell (20:23), and William Booth (20:49). The boys placed 6th for small schools.

The JV boys were led by Adrian Jenkins with a time of 21:45. He was followed by Christopher Weber (23:42), William Gobel (23:58), Shepard Nass (24:08), Ben Remy (25:15), Keegan Dohm (31:27), and Dallas Ziegler (37:28). The boys placed 9th for small schools.

This week is Homecoming week! Every Belleville athlete has put their all into their sport this season! Keep up the good work! Our next CC meet is our conference meet at Lion's Park in Mazomanie on Saturday. Run like the wind, Wildcats!
