On September 26th, the Monticello Ponies varsity volleyball team hosted Pecatonica. The Ponies won in three, 25-16, 25-10, 25-14.

Ellie Gustafson had 20 kills, while Macey Grant had 7 kills, Jaden Zuber had 4 aces and Kelsy Grant had 28 assists.

On September 29th, the Ponies played at Barneveld, winning in three, 25-11, 25-23, 15-11.

Macey Grant had 7 aces and Coach Rebecca Gustafson commented, “She led the team out of the gate the first set. With the help of her teammates, she served the Ponies out to a 6-0 lead which Barneveld never bounced back from.”

Ellie Gustafson had 21 kills, 4 aces and 21 digs, while Dalana Trumpy had 21 digs and Kelsy Grant had 25 assists.

“Both teams played aggressive defense in the 2nd set, which turned out to be a point-for-point match. The Ponies jumped out to a 11-3 lead before the Eagles called their first time out game three,” said Coach Gustafson. “The girls played well. Individuals are improving in their positions and it is bringing the team together. I’m so proud of how these girls played on the road. We played pretty good volleyball tonight. We move to 9-0, and grabbed at least a share of the title, with three more conference games left.”
