Elizabeth J. Fahey

Elizabeth Jean Fahey, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Sienna Crest in Oregon. She was born on July 2, 1933, in Mazomanie, WI, the daughter of Linus and Laura (O'Neill) Doyle.

Betty graduated from Belleville High School in 1951, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout. On May 1, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Fahey at St. Mary's of Lourdes Catholic Church, now St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Belleville. Betty served her parish as organist and was President of the Catholic Women's Club. She worked for over 50 years as a waitress at Borland's in Belleville, retiring in 2013. Betty was very active with the Eagles Club in Madison, holding the office of President and chairing committees. In 2009, she was named to the Wisconsin State Eagles Auxiliary Hall of Fame and named the State Eagles Auxiliary Mother of the year in 2014.

Betty is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Colleen (Al) Seifert, Cathy Fahey, Maureen (Randy) Gaber, and Erin (Troy) Hefty; and grandchildren, Easton, Addie, Wyatt and Rylee Gaber, Keely and Lucas Bouwmeester, and Tyler and Ciara Hefty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John Doyle and James Doyle.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison Street, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial is in the St. James Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, WI. A visitation preceded the mass from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. and Sienna Crest for the kind and compassionate care given to Betty.
