At approximately 1:07 p.m., on Monday, August 1, 2022, Deputies, the Blanchardville Fire Department, Blanchardville EMS, and MedFlight responded to the W8700 block of STH 39, Town of York, for a report of a motorcycle crash with injury. Investigation determined the operator, Chad A. Schneider, 50, Blanchardville, was traveling east on STH 39 when he attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone. Schneider was unable to negotiate the curve in the roadway after passing the vehicle and entered the ditch. Schneider was ejected from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet. Schneider sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene by MedFlight. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On Sunday, August 7, 2022, the Green County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Schneider had died as a result of injuries sustained in the motorcycle crash.

This is Green County’s 3rd traffic fatality of 2022.
