Gregory Allan Legler passed away at the age of 72 on July 30, 2022. The son of Rufus and Patricia (Gerber) Legler, he was born on January 19, 1950, in the back seat of a Ford sedan on the way to the hospital.

Greg grew up on the family farm in the Town of Montrose, and was a 1968 graduate of Belleville High School.

Greg is well known in the local farming community and has lived his life helping others and putting their needs before his own. His life was built on hard work and dedication. He found humor in every situation and enjoyed living life as he wanted.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Beth (Charlie) Campbell, Joan Hoppenjan, Brian Legler, and Terri Fiez; as well as many nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was especially close to his nephew, Keith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce; brothers-in-law, Melvin Hoppenjan and Robert Fiez; and close extended family.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli, 1138 County Road PB, Belleville, WI, with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial is in the Belleville Cemetery. A visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

In lieu of memorials, please go outside and enjoy the sun in the sky, the ground beneath your feet, the view of the land Greg loved so much, and give thanks to God for family, friends, and lives lived.
