Walter Announces Candidacy for Green County Coroner

Amy Jo Walter is running for the position of Green County Coroner.
Having spent six years as a Deputy Coroner, she has the much-needed experience to effectively run the office of the coroner. She has worked with countless families in Green County during death scene investigations, and has attended autopsies and collaborated closely with pathologists to determine cause and manner of death. She has spent hundreds of hours studying, training and taking classes in human anatomy and physiology, along with being a certified death scene investigator and arson investigator. She has worked closely with law enforcement agencies in the county, including SLANT and the District Attorney's Office during her investigations and has given testimony in Green County Court.
Amy Jo Walter has had a 20+ year career as a Firefighter/Paramedic and pulls from this background experience and knowledge in emergency scene response. Along with her basic duties as a Firefighter/Paramedic, she was a member of the MABAS 1 HAZMAT team and served as the Public Education Officer for her career department.
She has spent years serving her community as a volunteer firefighter and has been a member of multiple service organizations, including the Lions Club. Amy Jo has donated numerous hours to the Monroe Theatre Guild, helping build and design sets and ushering during performances.
"I will lead the office of the coroner with professional compassion, and ask for your support and your vote in the upcoming primary election on August 9, 2022, and the general election on November 8, 2022," states Walter.
