New Glarus Welcomes New Library Director
June 30, 2022
The New Glarus Library Board is happy to announce that Amy Trumble has been hired as the new Library Director. Library patrons may already be acquainted with Amy as she has been working at the library as a part-time clerk since August 2020. Since that time, Amy has played a vital role as a member of the library team. The Board is confident that the library will continue to provide exceptional services under Amy's leadership.
Amy Trumble and her family moved from Milwaukee to New Glarus in June 2020. At that time they were already well-acquainted with New Glarus, having visited often to spend time with family in the area. Amy and her husband have two daughters in college and a son in high school.
Amy outlines her goals as Library Director, "I look forward to the opportunity to work with the hardworking staff at the library and the members of the library board to continue encouraging the pursuit of knowledge and the spirit of learning through collection development, as well adult and children's programming. We will be looking to resume activities and partnerships in the community that have been on hold or modified during the pandemic. Further, we plan to explore additional programming and educational offerings. We are currently examining how we can make the best use of technology to reach, inform, and serve members of the community. Finally, I look forward to working together with the village, the library board, and the community to explore options for the building of a new library that will best serve the public as a resource and a space to gather."
Amy has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Master's Degree in Journalism. She brings diverse experience to the job. Her lifelong love of learning will serve her well in the coursework she'll take at UW-Madison to achieve her Grade II Library Director Certification. Amy is eager to learn new skills to fulfill the duties of the position and the Board looks forward to working with her in this new role!
The Board wishes to thank Assistant Director Erica Loeffelholtz, who capably served as the Interim Library Director during the search. The Board is extremely grateful for all Erica's work during this time.
