Still Looking For Local Fun This Summer?

Bring the World to Your Doorstep by Hosting a Student From Spain

June 23, 2022

A group of students from Spain will be in Wisconsin for 28 days this summer.

Several students are still in need of a family willing to let them be a part of their everyday routine, whatever it may be!

Being an International Friendship Host Family brings families together; it brings joy and a new perspective of our world to your doorstep. You get to see your life through a new lens. You get to share your values of compassion, kindness, and goodwill through the best way that kids learn: LIVING IT!

There are two groups of students from Spain looking forward to local Wisconsin families to invite one into their hearts, homes, and everyday routines for 28 days this summer. Arrival and departure is out of Madison.

The July group is here June 28-July 26 and the August group will be here July 29-August 26 (dates can be flexible).

Hosting a student is a fun and educational experience which develops a strong emotional connection between our students and the culture/language. You can learn so much about a culture from somebody through hosting. It is a great college/job resume builder for students to list as Global Volunteer Hours. It is a wonderful and enriching international friendship and learning experience for the whole family.

Krissa Hinzman explains why she’s behind International Friendship Hosting, “The reason that I’d love for everyone to learn about this opportunity is because growing up being an international host family totally rocked my world and childhood. It was AWESOME to have the world come to our doorstep and learn about other people’s way of life, way of thinking, way of being/speaking/cooking/thinking and beyond,” said Hinzman. “I treasured each friendship made.”

Each participant comes with all proper legal documents, full medical insurance, their own spending money for all activities, and simply look forward to being a part of your everyday routine, whatever it may be! It is a great experience for kids of all ages.
