Traditional Southern Style Smoked Pulled Pork Lunches at Homecoming

June 23, 2022

The Zwingli Brotherhood is back at the smoker again. BBQ at its best is now available for lunch during the Homecoming Festival in Monticello.

Pastor Lance has shared his BBQ secrets from the Foothills and Mountains of Western NC, and Bruce Workman shared his family BBQ secrets from Texas. The result is some of the smokiest, tastiest, pulled pork BBQ you have ever experienced. Pork shoulders are first marinated for 24 hours in a delicious secret apple marinade, then rubbed and cured with a spice rub known only to the people who live at the foot of Mt. Pisgah, deep in the forests of Western North Carolina. The pork is then slow smoked Texas-style over apple and pecan wood chips to enhance the flavors! This is what BBQ Is meant to taste like! This is a purely American Culinary Experience!

The Brotherhood of Zwingli UCC will be selling BBQ lunches in the Octagonal Shelter beside the lake in Monticello for the Homecoming celebration. Lunch Combos of a quarter-pound pulled pork sandwich, potato chips and a soda/drink choice will be available for a $10 donation. These tasty meals will be sold as long as they last Saturday, July 9, beginning at 11:00 a.m.!

Proceeds support Brotherhood Community projects as well as the Brotherhood College scholarship program. Come early and Come Hungry!
