Elaine R. Funseth, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville. She was born on July 23, 1935 in New Glarus, WI, the daughter of Wilbert and Hulda (Heuer) Elmer.

Elaine graduated from New Glarus High School in 1952. On June 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to John Funseth. Elaine would work for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for many years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Belleville, where she sang in the choir. Elaine celebrated her Swiss heritage as a Wilhelm Tell Usherette, polka dancing and playing accordion in the Rudy Burkhalter band. She loved to travel and play cards with her lady friends, along with gardening and quilting.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Beverly Funseth, Lori (Monte) Johnson, Vicki Funseth, and Joni (Dennis) Buchmann; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sisters, Pauline Elmer and Jean Pulver; and faithful canine companion, Oscar.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Laura Kolden officiating. A gathering of relatives and friends preceded the memorial service from 12:00 noon until time of services on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.
