NG Golf Competes at Conference and Prepped for Post-Season Play

The Wisconsin High School State Golf Tournament has a long history. According to WIAA records, the tournament started in 1923. The tourney has been played every year with the exceptions of the Great Recession in 1933, World War II in 1943 and 1944, and in 2020 when the season and post-season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, May 24th, New Glarus hosted the first stage of the state tourney with regional play at Edelweiss golf course. Look for an update next week.
The Capitol Conference Meet took place on May 17th at the Legend of Bergamont Country Club in Oregon. Zak Arnett led the Knights with a score of 82 featuring a pair of birdies on the challenging par 72 course. Nolan Bodenstein shot a 90, Ben Lukszys and Carter Siegenthaler both booked 91, and freshman Jackson Erstad carded a 93. Josh Potter led the Monticello/Belleville team with an 82.
