George M. Cleveland Sr.

George Marvin Cleveland Sr., 96, passed away on February 12, 2022, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born in Mayville, North Dakota, on September 20, 1925.

George was a World War II veteran, where he fought in the campaigns of North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He was employed through the years in various positions as a skilled welder and machinist.

A graveside inurnment service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at East Primrose Cemetery, 8906 Ridge Drive, Belleville, Wisconsin. Pastor John Twiton of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Horeb will officiate. A reception will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the Lingonberry Llama, 103 W. Main Street, Belleville, Wisconsin.

George is survived by his children, Cindy (Donald) Griffiths, George Jr. (Jacalyn), Kevin, Sandy, and Jonathan (Scarlet); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim (Gayle) Cleveland.
