Ponies Track Team Competes at Invite

On May 6th, the Monticello Ponies track team competed at the Beloit Daily News Invite at Beloit Turner High School. The boys team finished in 8th place, while the girls finished in 10th.
“It was another successful meet with personal records and broken school records!” said Kim Becker. “Here are a few highlights: Boys 800 - Evan Guenther broke the school record and came in 1st! Boys 1600 - Evan Guenther broke the school record and came in 2nd! 300m Hurdles - Brayden Ryan came in 2nd. 4x400 Relay - Seth Culberson, Brayden Ryan, Alex Roe and Evan Guenther came in 2nd. Natalie Wahl took 3rd in Discus.”
Boys Results
In the 400M Dash, Alex Roe finished 13th with a PR, while Ben Collins finished 14th with a PR.
Evan Guenther won the 800M Run with a PR, breaking the school record, while Braylon Hoesly finished 10th with a SR.
In the 1600M Run, Evan Guenther broke the school record with his 2nd place PR.
In the 300M Hurdles, Brayden Ryan finished 2nd with a PR.
The 4x400M Relay team of Seth Culberson, Brayden Ryan, Alex Roe and Evan Guenther finished 2nd in the event.
In the DMR 1200-400-800-1600, the team of Brayden Ryan, Seth Culberson, Alex Roe and Braylon Hoesly finished 4th.
In the Shot Put, Wade Noriega finished 18th, while Seth Culberson finished 20th and Joe DiCristina finished 25th.
In the Discus Throw, Wade Noriega finished 8th, while Ben Collins finished 24th and Joe DiCristina finished 25th.
In the Long Jump, Alex Roe finished 14th, while Mason McCutchin finished 15th and Atreyu Blades finished 21st with a PR.
Girls Results
In the Shot Put event, Natalie Wahl finished 15th. She took 3rd place in the Discus Throw.
On May 9th, the Ponies competed at Darlington and they will head to Belleville on May 13th and to UW-Platteville on May 16th for a conference meet.
