Monticello Blood Drive Has Great Turnout
March 17, 2022
Dear Editor,
Thank you for advertising the Monticello Red Cross Blood Drive. We had a great turnout at our drive on Friday, 4th of March. It was a partly sunny, kind-of-warm, almost-Spring day and people were ready to get out and do something nice.
Forty-eight people registered to give blood. We appreciate seeing everyone that wants to donate and know that there are various reasons that folks may be unable to donate on a particular day. We respect that the Red Cross has parameters and are happy that they want to keep everyone healthy. Even though it may not have worked out this time, we hope to see you again soon.
At the end of the day, 49 units were collected at the Monticello blood drive. Excellent work, everyone! There are many opportunities in our area to donate blood, so we know that we are lucky to have all of the donors that we get with each drive. It is always great to see the Monticello area residents come in because that is our home base. But we also love our New Glarus friends, and Albany and Belleville too. Green County represents well when it comes to helping others and it shows at the blood drives. Of course, the best part is when everyone can hang with friends at the canteen, where Karen and AnnaMarie keep the goodies well stocked.
As always, we thank everyone who made our day a success. Besides our wonderful donors and Red Cross staff, we want to thank the following: Subway of New Glarus for the delicious sub sandwiches, AnnaMarie for making a delicious variety of cookies (yup, I ate a couple on the way home - so good!). Thank you to the Monticello Lions for supplying milk and coffee and for helping with set up and tear down. As always, thank you to Culver’s of New Glarus for the “Pint for a Pint” coupons. Finally, thanks to the Zwingli Church for letting us use their facilities and to the Monticello Honor Society for helping with set up also. It was a great day!
We hope to see you all again on the First of July 2022 for the next blood drive.
Best Regards to all,
The Monticello Red Cross Blood Drive Committee
