Marian Jelle, age 92 of Verona, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at UW Hospital. She was born on December 27, 1929, in Barneveld, the daughter of Olvin and Gunda (Tvedt) Thompson.

Marian graduated from Mount Horeb High School. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Badger Prairie in Verona, retiring in 1993. Marian married DuPont Jelle in 1950, and later divorced.

Marian was very involved with her family and was very dedicated to them. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and making delicious food. Marian loved going to garage sales with her best friend, Joyce. She loved spending days with her grandchildren and taking them to the movies when they had a day off.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Beth Sies; son, Kevin Jelle; two grandchildren, Hannah (Jacob) Noll and Jeffrey Sies; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Noll and Bennett Noll.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olvin and Gunda Thompson; and son-in-law, Nolan Sies.

A service will be held at a later date.
