The New Glarus Elementary School wrapped up the holiday season with a food drive, collecting 1,985 pounds of food for the Green Cares Food Pantry. This three-week long Holiday Food Drive collected boxed, bagged, and canned goods, as well as hygiene products which added up to 2,633 items.

In addition to the Food Drive, Mrs. Kranz (K-5 art teacher) ran a project called "Creating for a Cause." New Glarus Elementary K-5th grade students each created clay ornaments which were given out as a thank you for every $5 donation to the food pantry. This fundraiser raised $2,020, which was also donated to the Green Cares Food Pantry.

On December 30, 2021, Holiday Food Drive Coordinator Mrs. Wieser, Jeannie Blumer, a Green Cares Food Pantry Volunteer, Elementary School Art Teacher Sarah Kranz, and local high school students, Emma Martinson and Lance Brecklin, met to transport the donated goods and money to the Green Cares Food Pantry.
