Raiders Wrestling Host Raiders Scramble

The Sugar River Raiders hosted their Raiders Scramble on December 11th. Evansville won the tournament, with 239.5 points, while Lancaster placed 2nd with 170 points, Monroe was in 3rd place with 135.5 points, Sugar River placed 4th with 126 points, Dodgeville placed 5th with 107 points, Beloit Memorial placed 6th with 48 points, and Durand/Pecatonica placed 7th with 13 points.
Wrestling at 106 lbs, Blake Endres (7-2) placed 1st and scored 24 team points. In round one, Endres won by fall over Monroe’s Garrett Minder. In round two, Endres won by fall over Logan Olson, and in round three he won by fall over Evansville’s Blake Frey. In round four, Endres won by fall over Miguel Martinez of Beloit Memorial.
Mason Mau (9-0), wrestling at 126 lbs, placed 1st and scored 22 team points. In round one, Mau won by fall over Nathan Garvoille and in round two he won by fall over Beloit Memorial’s Alan Lopez. In round three, Mau won by decision over Monroe’s Carson Menehan and in round four he won by decision over Evansville’s Camden Staver. In round five, Mau won by fall over Lancaster’s Devin Tydrich.
Wrestling at 132 lbs, Brennan Keyes (4-2) placed 5th and scored 9 team points. In round one, Keyes lost by major decision to Lancaster’s Joe Esser and in round two he lost by fall to Monroe’s Christian Schuh. In round three, Keyes won by fall over Dodgeville’s Caden Zumbrunnen. In the Consolation Bracket, Keyes won by fall over Dodgeville’s Colin Judd, and in the 5th Place Match he won by decision over Lancaster’s Nolan Wolf.
Matthew Loshaw (5-4), wrestling at 138 lbs, placed 5th and scored 11 team points. In round one, Loshaw won by fall over Beloit Memorial’s Johan Hernandez, and in round two he lost by fall to Max Kaether. In round three, Loshaw lost by tech fall to Evansville’s Caleb Miller. In the Consolation Bracket, Loshaw won by fall over Ryan Degenhardt and in the 5th Place Match, he won by fall over Johan Hernandez of Beloit Memorial.
Wrestling at 145 lbs, Avery Lettman (4-4) placed 2nd and scored 16 team points. In round one, Lettman lost by decision to Evansville’s Lee Jorgenson and in round two he won by decision over Ryan Holst of Monroe. In round three, Lettman won by fall over Seth Jenkins of Dodgeville and in round four he won by fall over Lancaster’s Jackson VanNatta.
Ryker Swenson (4-2), wresting at 152 lbs, placed 2nd and scored 12 team points. In round one, Swenson won by decision over Lancaster’s Colby Lull and in round two he lost to Monroe’s Brady Schuh by fall.
Wrestling at 170 lbs, Alex Zielinski (3-2) placed 3rd and scored 13 team points. In round one, Zielinski won by fall over Dodgeville’s Jack Heimerl and in round two he won by fall over Jimmy Staggs of Beloit Memorial. In round three, Zielinski lost by fall to Lane Reynolds of Lancaster and in round four he lost by fall to Owen Heiser of Evansville.
Riley Weber (0-5), wrestling at 182 lbs, placed 5th and scored 5 team points. In round one, Weber lost by fall to Luke Wille and in round two he lost to Charlie Braunschweig of Evansville. In round three, Weber lost to Lancaster’s Bryce Galler and in round four he lost to Wyatt Klitmann.
Wrestling at 195 lbs, Holden Righter (1-2), placed 3rd and scored 11 team points. In round one, Righter lost to Lancaster’s Ryan McCartney and in round two he won by fall over Troy Fagerstrom of Durand/Pecatonica. In round three, Righter lost by fall to Evansville’s Liam Speich.
Isaac Erb (0-6), wrestling at 285 lbs, placed 6th and scored 3 team points. In round one, Erb lost by fall to Dodgeville’s Brighton Judd and in round two lost by fall to Isaac Bunker of Monroe. In round three, Erb lost to Tucker Peterson and in round four he lost to Evansville’s Cutter Lange. In round five, Erb lost by fall to Van Davis.
The Raiders will wrestle at an invitational at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison on December 18th, attend a match at Turner High School on December 23rd, and will wrestle at an Invitational held at UW-Oshkosh on December 29th.
