On Sunday, November 7, 2021, Troop 106 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Matthew Collins.
Matthew completed the path to Eagle on May 5, 2021, when he participated in his Eagle Scout Board of Review. In this, Matthew is asked many questions ranging from his favorite merit badge he earned, what was his favorite event that he attended, what was the most challenging activity he performed and for the board he explained the process he went through for his Eagle Scout Service Project.
Matthew's service project was constructing a 9 Square game for the Monticello School District for all the students and guests to participate in while at the School.
Matthew's achievements on his way to Eagle were for the 21 required merit badges plus an additional 11, totaling 32 in all. Ordial and Brotherhood ranks in the Order of the Arrow. Two trips to the Boundary Waters. Six summer camps to various Scout camps in Wisconsin and Illinois, in which he participated in many activities including showing his brother Ben the fine arts of how to win at Chess.
Troop 106 would like to congratulate Matthew on his achievement and thank him for all of his hard work in planning and leading the Troop in many activities.
"The biggest thing one of the adult leaders will always remember about Matthew is every time something needed to be moved, unloaded, loaded or just simply done, Matthew was the first one there asking if he could help with anything," said Jon Byrd.
