Wildcats Win Season Opener at Barneveld

The Belleville Wildcats boys basketball team opened up their season at Barneveld on November 23rd, with a win against the Eagles. The Wildcats were up 53-22 at the half and cruised to a 99-41 win.
Belleville was led in scoring by Carson Syse with 21 points, followed by Gavin Boyum who put 14 points on the board, and Trevor Syse, Andrew Ace and Demarcus Conner all scored 12 points.
“Constant defensive pressure and pushing tempo were keys for us,” said Coach TJ Zweifel.
On November 27th, the Wildcats hosted the Cheesemakers of Monroe. The Wildcats had a 29-22 lead at halftime, but Monroe powered back in the second half to win the game, 63-56 over Belleville.
“We struggled to find a scoring rhythm and Monroe held the pace down to their favor,” stated Coach Zweifel.
Trevor Syse led the Wildcats with 19 points.
Belleville played at Deerfield on November 30th. They will host Mineral Point on December 2nd and play at Lena-Winslow on December 4th.
