Cost-Share Signup For Conservation Practices Announced
November 4, 2021
With fall field work in full swing, now is a perfect time to be seeing if there are any issues on your land. Do you have any excess erosion? Do you have water running where it shouldn’t be? If so, the Green County Land and Water Conservation Department will be accepting applications for soil conservation and water quality practices until December 31, 2021.
Practices approved for the Land and Water Conservation Department are paid on a 70% cost-share per practice basis. The exception to this rule is for nutrient management. This practice is paid on a flat rate of $40 per acre. A few examples of practices that are offered are: well decommissioning, grassed waterways, barnyard runoff control systems, stream bank improvement, cattle and equipment crossings, roof gutters, and diversions.
For a complete list of available practices or to apply, please contact Todd Jenson at (608) 325-4195 Ext. 119.
