The Sugar River Senior Center needs volunteers to deliver noon time meals on weekdays. Consider helping once a week, once a month or as a sub! Scheduling is based on volunteers’ availability. Drivers are offered mileage reimbursement at .56 cents/mile, and provided with additional liability insurance. It doesn’t take much time from your schedule and means so much to area seniors who receive these meals.

We are also looking for driver escort drivers, which provides rides to medical appointments for older adults in Dane County who don’t have access to car, bus, family or friends to transport them. Drivers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed for mileage. The driving schedule is very flexible. You can choose to drive as often as you like and select the days that work best for you. You’ll receive a call when we have a ride request and can accept or decline based on your schedule. OR, If you are a Veteran, you may especially enjoy the satisfaction and camaraderie of driving a fellow Vet to appointments through vets helping vets.
