New Glarus Wins Over Iowa-Grant, Loses to Brodhead

On October 19th, the New Glarus volleyball team, who were seeded #4, defeated the #13 seeded Iowa-Grant team in the first round of the WIAA Division 3 Regionals in three, 25-19; 25-13; 25-14.
Lindsey Schadewalt had 22 assists and 2 aces, while Grace Nommensen had 15 kills, 6 assists and 11 digs, Emma Marty had 6 kills and 7 digs and Amber Horn had 6 kills, 7 digs, 3 solo blocks and 3 aces.
The win against Iowa-Grant allowed the Lady Knights to advance to round two on October 21st, where they faced Mineral Point, who was seeded #5 for the tournament. New Glarus won it 3-1: 26-24; 18-25; 25-20; 25-22.
Grace Nommensen had 16 kills, 12 assists and 14 digs, while Lindsey Schadewalt had 11 kills, 17 assists and 7 digs, Emma Marty had 4 kills and 10 digs, Amber Horn had 3 kills, 7 digs and 2 blocks and Veronica Tollakson had 5 aces.
Next up for the Lady Knights was #1 Brodhead on October 23rd. New Glarus lost in three, 14-25; 5-25; 18-25. No further information was available at press time.
