McKnight Named Youth Honoree for the Arthritis Foundation's Bone Bash Fundraiser

September 23, 2021

Jenna McKnight

Jenna McKnight of Belleville has been named the Arthritis Foundation of Wisconsin's 2021 Bone Bash Youth Honoree.

More than 200 area residents are expected to support the Arthritis Foundation's mission to cure arthritis by attending the second-annual Bone Bash "Haunted Supper Club" Halloween party on October 22, 2021, at the Round Table in Sun Prairie, WI.

The evening will include games, music, food and drinks that will bring guests back in time to a 1930's haunted supper club. Funds raised will be used to support arthritis research and resources, along with Camp MASH (Make Arthritis Stop Hurting), a camp for children with arthritis located in Wisconsin Dells.

"Most people don't realize arthritis also affects children," said Sara Peterson, Executive Director of the Arthritis Foundation. "In fact, over 6,000 children in Wisconsin are diagnosed with arthritis."

Jenna, who is now 16, was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 3 years old.

"I am lucky to have my family and friends to support me and to help me manage my symptoms so that I can continue to do the things I love, like painting, writing, and playing D&D and video games with my friends," said McKnight. "I even play Trumpet in my school's band alongside performing in choir!"

"We are thrilled that Jenna will be sharing her journey with arthritis to our guests at this year's event," said Peterson. "Kids like Jenna, who have been battling arthritis throughout their childhood years, inspire us to keep fundraising until we find a cure."
