Lafayette County Files Charges Against Quaglia and Murdock

Joseph A. Quaglia, rural Mount Horeb, made his initial appearance in Lafayette County Circuit Court on June 28th after being released on a $50,000 signature bond from the Lafayette County Jail on June 21st. The charges stem from incidents that occurred earlier in June.
Quaglia has been charged with Felony Theft of Movable Property <$10,000-$100,000 as Party to a Crime; Felony Criminal Damage to Property (over $2,500) as Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Theft of Movable Property <=$2,500 as Party to a Crime; Felony Theft of Movable Property <$10,000-$100,000 as Party to a Crime; Felony Burglary to Building or Dwelling as Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property as Party to a Crime; Felony Theft of Movable Property-Special Facts as Party to a Crime.
Quaglia will appear in Lafayette County Circuit Court on August 10, 2021, for a Preliminary Hearing.
Also charged in the case is Owen I. Murdock, 17, of rural Galena, Illinois. Murdock’s charges include Felony Theft of Movable Property <$10,000-$100,000 as Party to a Crime; Felony Criminal Damage to Property (over $2,500) as Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Theft of Movable Property <=$2,500 as Party to a Crime; Felony Theft of Movable Property <$10,000-$100,000 as Party to a Crime; Felony Burglary to Building or Dwelling as Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property as Party to a Crime; Felony Theft of Movable Property-Special Facts as Party to a Crime.
Due to jurisdictional restrictions, Murdock was not initially taken into custody; his initial appearance on the charges is scheduled for July 12, 2021, in Lafayette County Circuit Court.
