Don't Worry About the Car in the Park
June 17, 2021
Dear Editor,
Just a note to the person who is so worried about the white vehicle parked each morning for about 1 hour down by the park shelter house. Is that all you have to do? Maybe you should spend your time doing something for our community like I did when I was able to.
The average aged person that remembers those days will tell you that Ann and I have done our part to make Monticello a better place to live and raise a family, and enjoyed helping others and see our community prosper. A few of us old timers meet there each morning and more or less discuss the good old days, and may talk smart!!
I am 96, and not really good on my feet. I wonder about you when you get that age. What are you doing to support our community? Why is that car for an hour bothering you?
I want to add, the policeman that approached me about my car being parked in the park was very nice, friendly and polite and only doing his job. Which complaints like yours takes time away from much more serious issues he needs to deal with.
Wishing you a great day, and try enjoying life.
Thank you,
Tom Saunders,
Monticello
