New Glarus Jr. FCCLA Officers to Present at National Conference in June
June 3, 2021
The New Glarus Jr. FCCLA Officers team consisting of Alaina Smith, Alivia Lamb, Camryn Arnett, Emma Mondloch and Kaia Morrison were recently accepted to be presenters for this year's FCCLA National Virtual Conference. This is the first time this has happened in at least seven years, since Mrs. Anderson has been the adviser.
Their proposal is under the category of virtual show and share and the title of their presentation is "Making the Switch: Taking Our In-Person Chapter to Virtual". They will be recording a 15-minute presentation that will be available to all virtual conference attendees from across the nation. Their presentation description is: "Our presentation will cover our journey as we took our chapter from completely in-person to virtual. This will include the trials, errors, and challenges we faced as we worked to keep members engaged and provided opportunities to them to serve their community. We are middle school students ourselves, and worked to keep meetings engaging for our middle school aged group. In conclusion, this presentation will be a summary of our past year and the tips, challenges and moments in switching a chapter to virtual."
Adviser Julie Anderson said, "As their adviser, I am beyond impressed with the leadership of these Jr. FCCLA officers. Their passion, leadership and charisma is second to none. I am so proud to be their adviser and being able to witness them making such strong impacts on our school, students and community."
Best of luck to Alaina, Alivia, Camryn, Emma and Kaia!
