Wildcats Win Over Southwestern

On Friday, April 16th, the Belleville Wildcats hosted the Wildcats from Southwestern High School in Hazel Green. Belleville dominated the entire game, and won. The final score was Belleville 42, Southwestern 20.

Belleville scored 21 points in the first quarter. The first TD was a 59-yard run by Sawyer Fahey into the end zone. Trevor Syse's extra point was good. Fahey then ran it in from a yard out 9 minutes later to score again, and Syse's extra point was good. With 1 second left in the quarter, Trevor Syse's pass to Carson Syse was good for 6, and Trevor's extra point attempt was good. The second quarter was another high scoring event for Belleville. Sawyer Fahey ran in for a TD, and Trevor Syse's extra point was good. Two minutes later, Syse's pass to Jaxon Pier was good for 6 and Syse kicked the extra point. Southwestern found an opportunity to score some points with 2:12 remaining in the half and successfully converted for two points. With 51 seconds left in the half, Syse connected with Anthony Nolden for a TD and again Syse's extra point was good. The halftime score was Belleville 42, Southwestern 8.

Belleville was able to hold Southwestern to 12 points in the second half of the game, ensuring their victory.

Quarterback Trevor Syse was 13 for 27, with 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 33 yards on 12 attempts in the win over Southwestern.

At QB, Trevor Syse was 13 for 27, with 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. Aidan Keyes was 3-3 at quarterback, with 13 yards.

Sawyer Fahey racked up 124 rushing yards on 14 attempts and 3 touchdowns, while Trevor Syse rushed for 33 yards on 12 attempts, Patrick Samon rushed for 9 yards on 4 attempts, Dylan Posthuma rushed for 8 yards on 1 attempt and Aidan Keyes rushed for 5 yards on 3 attempts.

Anthony Nolden had 81 receiving yards on 5 recep- tions and 1 touchdown, while Carson Syse had 70 yards on 4 receptions and 1 touchdown, Jaxon Pier had 42 yards on 2 receptions and 1 touchdown, Andrew Ace had 17 yards on 1 reception and Sawyer Fahey had 10 yards on 1 reception.

The Wildcats will play at Black River Falls on April 23rd, kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
