Due Date For Community Mapping Project Approaches
April 1, 2021
Many community members have registered to participate in the 'Mapping Our Community' project, sponsored by the New Glarus Public Library. These people are currently in the process of creating unique maps of New Glarus using the artist's paper, colored pencils and watercolor paints provided by the library. Excitement is building as completed maps are being turned in at the library's pick-up window.
The project offers friends and neighbors an outlet for creative expression, and each map will exist as a record of New Glarus at this moment in time. The artwork will be shared in public exhibitions this summer, in an online gallery at https://www.youareherengpl.org/, and on the walls of the new library building in the near future.
If you're interested in making a map, there are still art kits available. If you've already registered, it's time to finish making your map and submit it by the deadline of Saturday, April 10th! Please drop off completed maps during regular library hours.
Go to https://www.youareherengpl.org/ for details.
The map project is made possible with a grant from the Anonymous II Fund of the New Glarus Community Fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.
