Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: Village of Belleville Trustee, 2016-2020. President of Belleville Music Boosters. Committee member for Economic Development, ADA, Police Dept., Finance and Community Tree Advisory. Accompanist for Solo & Ensemble for 50 years.

Why are you running for village board? Belleville has been my home for 52 years. It is a great village that is growing and has so much to offer. With my work experience, extensive knowledge, and social interaction with people of all cultures and backgrounds, I feel that I can be an asset to the village as a trustee. I will not promote my own agenda but will listen to the residents and promote the wishes of the majority. I will represent the voters thoughts and decisions.

What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: Taxes, water/sewer bills and promoting growth of Belleville - residential and commercial are important issues that the Village Board needs to concentrate on. By attracting growth, especially businesses, Belleville's tax base would increase and help to alleviate the cost/pressure now being put on the residents. Increasing new residential and commercial growth would also help to pay for infrastructure costs. Growth is not the total answer. Belleville will have to prioritize spending, determine if projects are a "want" or "needed," create a budget as a foundation to fund projects forward, follow the village comprehensive plan regarding development, and basically plan smart and spend smart. This should help keep taxes and water/sewer bills at a level residents can afford.

Any additional comments? I would like to take this time to thank the Post Messenger Recorder for this opportunity. If anyone has any questions for me, please feel free to contact me at mamagoose1948@gmail.com. If I don't have the answers to your questions, I will try to get the answer(s). Thank you! Please remember to vote on April 6!
