The Monroe-New Glarus swim team competed against Edgewood on March 2nd. The JV team lost to Edgewood, 25-76, while the Varsity team fell to Edgewood 39-131.

Varsity Results

The team consisting of Riley Hoesly, Karley Michels, Keeley Mulligan and Morgan Erstad finished in third place in the 200 SC Meter Medley Relay with a time of 2:14.95, while the team of Taylor Rufer, Peyton Yaun, Samantha Schiro and Kendra Wenger finished in fourth place in the event with a time of 2:23.04.

Finishing fourth in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle event was Keeley Mulligan, with a time of 2:42.98. Karley Michels placed fifth with a time of 2:45.87, and Elsa Schaefer placed sixth with a time of 2:46.89.

In the 200 SC Meter IM, MNG had three swimmers place fourth through sixth. In fourth, with a time of 2:50.65, was Anna Newcomer, while Peyton Yaun finished fifth with a time of 2:50.94 and Danika Doll finished in sixth place with a time of 3:21.09.

In the 50 SC Meter Freestyle event, Morgan Erstad finished second with a time of 29.20, while Francesca Schrio placed third with a time of 29.40 and Kendra Wenger finished in sixth place with a time of 32.36.

In the 100 SC Meter Butterfly, Samantha Schiro placed fourth with a time of 1:19.64, while Keeley Mulligan placed fifth with a time of 1:21.50 and Peyton Yaun placed sixth with a time of 1:21.64.

Francesca Schiro finished in second place in the 100 SC Meter Freestyle, with a time of 1:04.26. Placing fifth was Kendra Wenger, with a time of 1:12.73, and Samantha Schiro placed sixth with a time of 1:16.89.

Riley Hoesly placed second in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle event, with a time of 5:09.46. Finished fifth in the event was Kaitlyn Elgin with a time of 5:20.68 and Taylor Rufer finished sixth with a time of 5:48.97.

The team of Morgan Erstad, Peyton Yaun, Elsa Schaefer and Francesca Schiro finished in third place in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay, with a time of 2:08.58. Finishing in fourth place was the team of Kaitlyn Elgin, Kendra Wenger, Danika Doll and Anna Newcomer, with a time of 2:11.56.

In the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, Riley Hoesly placed third with a time of 1:14.19, while Kaitlyn Elgin placed fifth with a time of 1:18.53 and Taylor Rufer placed sixth with a time of 1:22.04.

In the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke event, Karley Michels placed fourth with a time of 1:26.64, while Elsa Schaefer placed fifth with a time of 1:29.26 and Anna Newcomer placed sixth with a time of 1:29.41.

The 400 SC Meter Freestyle Relay team of Morgan Erstad, Riley Hoesly, Keeley Mulligan and Francesca Schiro finished in third in the event, with a time of 4:28.64. Finishing fourth, with a time of 4:58.79, was the team of Samantha Schiro, Karley Michels, Elsa Schaefer and Anna Newcomer.

Monroe-New Glarus hosted Monona Grove on March 9th. They have a meet on March 16th, with the opponent TBA, and a meet against Oregon on March 23rd. All meets begin at 6:00 p.m., at the Green County YMCA in Monroe.
