New Glarus Boys Win Fifth Consecutive Conference Championship

The New Glarus Knights won over Wisconsin Heights on February 11th, and for the fifth consecutive year are Conference Champions. Front Row: Beckett Malaise, A.C. The New Glarus Knights boys basketball team hosted the Oregon Panthers on February 8th. The Knights trailed by 5 at the half, and ended up losing the game by 10. The final score was New Glarus 66, Oregon 76.

With 24 points, Dain Walter led the Knights in scoring, while Mason Martinson scored 14 points and Darris Schuett scored 8 points.

On February 11th, the Knights hosted Wisconsin Heights. New Glarus was down by 5 at the half but rallied in the second to win the game. The final score was New Glarus 50, Wisconsin Heights 47.

Mason Martinson scored 19 points to lead New Glarus, while Darris Schuett scored 10 points and Dain Walter put 6 on the board.

"With the win, New Glarus gets a share of the Capitol South conference title with Marshall,' commented Coach Travis Sysko. "This is the fifth straight conference title for the Knights."

New Glarus, who is seeded #3 for the WIAA D3 Sectionals, received a bye for the first round and will play the winner of the #3 Lancaster vs #6 Prairie du Chien game at home on February 19th, at 7:00 p.m.
