Dear Editor,

I would like to thank the Monticello Chief of Police Szvon Conway and Deputy Payton Ray with the Green County Sheriff’s Office, and some unknown local people who stopped at the scene of the accident on Hefty Road and Highway 69 on January 19th. My wife hit an icy patch and lost control of car, and rolled over upside-down in a creek, with our 5-month-old 60 lbs puppy.

Car was totaled and puppy was rescued; it’s special people like these that make a difference in the world!!!
